In order to find the best suiting one for yourself, you have to know what to look for and what to pay attention to. If you don’t have any experience with these machines, choosing the right one for your needs may be a bit difficult and risky.

This way, you don’t have to go through all the hassles of researching, but instead, you can find everything you need to know in one place – here. Specifications:

  • Motor – 25cc 2-cycle
  • Bar length – 8 inches
  • Pole length – 7 feet
  • Auto oiling system
  • Compatible with other Remington models (accepts attachments and turns into a blower, trimmer, edger, and etcetera)

Remington RM2599 – The Basics

What makes this model different from the others is the way that the weight is distributed. In other words, instead of it being concentrated at the end of the pole, most of the weight is in the user’s hands. That’s a great innovation design-wise because it significantly reduces the impact of this machine on your muscles. The 25cc motor offers enough power to cut through any branch without breaking a sweat. In fact, it can even tackle some thicker pieces of wood, however, with less efficiency.

The pole is long enough to allow you to reach up to 12 feet high. The QuickStart technology is also a great addition because it makes pull-starts easy and much more convenient in comparison to some other models.

The Features

The design

The design is probably the main selling point of this machine, apart from the premium features. As we already said, it’s designed to alleviate the fatigue-related hassles very efficiently. In other words, because the user is holding the machine in their hands instead of lifting it up, it causes much less exhaustion and fatigue, thus allowing you to use it longer in one go. The auto oiler is designed to lubricate the chain constantly meaning you don’t have to worry much about lubrication at all.

On the other hand, the thing you do need to worry about is regular maintenance. As you may know, gas-powered units require more maintenance than any other type. If you’re an absolute beginner, we recommend that you do some research before handling a gas-powered chainsaw. The engine can be used with other Remington products such as blowers, mowers, and so on. It’s a great feature because you can use one unit for a vast array of applications instead of being focused only on cutting and trimming. The 8-inch bar features a low-kickback tip ensuring top levels of safety.

Safety

Most regular safety rules apply to this chainsaw as they do with many others. In simpler words, make sure you take all the precautionary measures before dealing with this machine. In case you aren’t aware of the dangers, don’t hesitate to take a look at the user manual. Also, if you run into any issues, the manual usually has an answer for most occasions.

Things we liked about it

There are plenty of things we liked about this particular machine. First of all, the build quality definitely leaves a good impression, to say the least. One can rest assured that this model is built to last for quite some time, as long as you maintain it in good condition. On top of that, the price-to-quality ratio is excellent.

One other thing we really liked is the overall simplicity that’s included in the equation. In other words, you don’t have to fine-tune or adjust the machine as much as you have imagined. Instead, it’s almost ready to cut right out of the box. All you have to do is put some oil in it, adjust the chain, and that’s it!

The pole is quite sturdy and reliable despite the fact that it looks fairly unstable and weak. Many people find it confusing, but you can rest assured it will perform as advertised and without any issues.

Q

Things we didn’t like

The level of noise is always a problem with gas-powered units. It might not be a significant downside per se, especially because it’s expected, but you should be aware of it. If you have an issue with the slightly noisier machine, you might want to look for electric or battery-powered ones.

The price is okay, but it would have been even better if it were a few dollars cheaper. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth investing in.

General user impressions

The opinions are mixed when it comes to this model. Plenty of people loved its convenient and innovative design, while others didn’t like the way it performs. In the end, it all comes down to your personal preferences and requirements. If you’re searching for a mighty machine that can cope with thick branches in your backyard, the RM2599 model might be the ideal one.

Conclusion

As we said, it’s quite hard to find the best-suiting machine for your needs nowadays. There are dozens if not hundreds of available models on the market, and they all look pretty similar to each other. The key is always in the details. We tried to cover the most important details as far as this machine goes, and it seems like a good purchase for people that are looking for specific type, power output, and design.

If this unit seems too complicated for you, don’t worry. Even though it’s quite easy to use, there are some that are even easier to get the hang of. If this model doesn’t seem appealing to you, make sure you check our other reviews.
